
LGI may be a young company, but we’re rich in tradition. In 1995, two frontrunners in their particular industry set off on a journey with Logistics Group International. Since then LGI has always stayed in the fast lane.
Every year, LGI grows by nearly 20%. Today, more than 2300 dedicated employees at 31 locations throughout Europe translate turn-key, pioneering logistics concepts into powerful industrial practice – and the rest will be written in the history books.
1995:
LGI was founded as a joint venture between Hewlett Packard and the Willi Betz Group.
1996:
Start of operations in the automotive logistics sector with the opening of a supplier-logistics-learn center and just in time (JIT) services for a renowned german car manfacturer.
1997:
Start up of the LGI logistics center in Herrenberg-Gültstein.
2000:
Start of operations at the Bondorf, Scharnhausen and Waghäusel sites.
2002:
Establishment of the marketing logistics company, TechProtect, a fully owned LGI subsidary. The health care business unit was also founded in this year with operations out of Hamburg site.
2003:
LGI buys up the contract logistics company P&H. The personal leasing company LOGworks was established.
2004:
Start up of the first european warehouse in England (Milton Keynes).
2005:
Establishment of the logistic learn center & partner (LLP).
2007:
LGI sets up 3 further european warehouses with a 6 month period.
2008:
LGI takes a stake in the Helix IT company. LGI takes over of the logistic operations for a well-known heating and sanitary supplier and sets up 6 new logistics centers throughtout Germany.
2009:
Start up of the flagship warehouse in Hünxe (in the Ruhr region) with the world's first implementation of the "Orbiter" shuttle system.
2011:
New logistics site in Böblingen
2012:
Relocation of headquarters to Herrenberg (Stuttgart area, near Böblingen)
