LOS and logistics hero Sabrina-Jasmin Schmidt

For us, Sabrina-Jasmin Schmidt is a logistics hero because she turns our employees into optimizers. The fact that the LEAN coach and logistics planner gives her own workshops for this has to do with the increasing demands on the logistics industry. On the occasion of the Wirtschaftsmacher campaign, LGI presents a portrait of several logistics heroes.
LGI: Hello Sabrina-Jasmin, how do logisticians become optimizers?
Sabrina-Jasmin: At LGI, we’ve built up a network of LEAN experts over the past few years who take care of optimi-zations at the locations. I am such a LEAN expert and have been internally trained for it. In this function I give workshops and bring the LEAN idea into the heads of our employees.
LGI: And how do you hold such a workshop?
Sabrina-Jasmin: The workshop is structured in such a way that the participants independently find a solution to a challenge that has arisen in everyday logistics. But the way is open. As a consultant or coach, I only reflect the inputs with the group at the given goal from time to time.
LGI: How do you manage that the participants are really optimizers after the workshop?
Sabrina-Jasmin: The mere fact that the group goes the way to the solution itself makes them optimizers. Each group develops its own dynamics and reaches its goal in completely different ways. But it is also clear that we LEAN experts create a certain mentality for im-provement in the workshops. I see my role as a trainer who puts the idea into the employees’ heads that optimisation is part of everyday life.
LGI: Why are such LEAN workshops necessary at all?
Sabrina-Jasmin: Logistics must react faster and more flexibly. In my opinion, environmental requirements are becoming more and more complex and we ha-ve to constantly respond to new challenges. We have to remain versatile and constantly scrutinize our processes. That’s why a LEAN network is so important!
