pakadoo becomes independent
HERRENBERG. The corporate start-up of LGI Logistics Group International pakadoo was transformed into an independent company headquartered in Böblingen on 14 December 2018. The main shareholder of the newly founded pakadoo GmbH is the Finnish investment company VersoVentures. LGI remains co-shareholder in the joint venture. “The digital delivery service pakadoo is ready to break new ground and will be able to drive its business model even faster in the new constellation”, says LGI’s CEO Andreas Bunz.
The spin-off has many advantages
Three years after its foundation as an internal start-up of LGI, pakadoo will continue its business idea with the new shareholder outside the LGI structures. “With VersoVentures, we have a solvent, reliable and competent partner on board. Now we can drive our service forward with full power”, says Markus Ziegler, who is leaving LGI and will become co-shareholder and new managing director of pakadoo GmbH like Michael Strohäcker.

Nothing will change for customers and business partners – all current contracts will remain with the new main shareholder. The Finnish investment company based in Helsinki is specialized in start-ups and innovative spin-offs in growth markets in Europe. pakadoo was founded in 2015 as a corporate start-up of LGI. Since then, the digital delivery service has continuously expanded its clientele with numerous projects to solve the last mile problem. The approach of bundled, guaranteed delivery to the company of pakadoo inventor Kris Van Lancker has been awarded with several prizes such as the LEO Award in 2016.
