LGI Logistics Group International GmbH celebrates its 25th anniversary

HERRENBERG. On June 1, 2020, LGI became a quarter of a century old – a great day for our company! LGI originally emerged from the logistics division of Hewlett-Packard Deutschland GmbH, which at that time still had 160 employees. Since its foundation in 1995, 25 years have passed and it is now one of the leading contract logistics companies in Europe. What’s more, LGI is represented all over the world as part of the Swedish Elanders Group.
We owe this long and successful history to our dedicated employees. Today, more than 5,000 motivated logistics professionals contribute to the success of the company. “Every day we are proud of the contribution of our employees,” says CEO Bernd Schwenger.
Who we are today
Our customers come from the automotive, electronics, textile, beauty & lifestyle, healthcare and industrial sectors. We meet this diversity with customer proximity and a wide range of services. Both industrial thinking and medium-sized entrepreneurial spirit are part of a brand that our customers can trust.
As a service provider, we do not only see ourselves as a traditional service provider. We believe we can become even better. To this end we develop attractive solutions. In the past we have expanded and decisively developed various business areas:
In e-commerce, we are increasingly focusing on fulfillment services in online trading. Here we develop and operate comprehensive services, such as order management, financial services, customer care, content management and delivery to the end customer.
In the area of life-cycle management, we manage the complete life cycle of a product – from manufacture to reuse, including support for resale.
“In the further development of services, the needs of our customers are of course our focus. LGI has always understood how to develop logistics solutions both for international groups and individually – and to do so in a tailor-made way. Our clients appreciate this and reward it with years of trust-based cooperation,” Schwenger continues.
A look ahead
25 years – a long and dynamic company history. But in what direction will LGI develop in two, ten or even twenty years? CEO Bernd Schwenger has clear ideas about how things should continue. He would like “to position LGI increasingly as an end-to-end service provider in the demand chain.
In line with this principle, we look forward to a continued successful future!
